Whether it’s their first time or a routine part of their life, menstruation has become a nightmare for women and girls in Gaza.
"It's messy. It's terrible. And nobody speaks about it," Akkila says, explaining openly talking about menstrual struggles remains taboo, even in war time.
“The impending arrival of my menstrual period has become a nightmare for me,” Sarah says. “I have to share a bathroom with more than 100 women.
